All figures are typical estimates for the metro Atlanta area and are not guaranteed prices. Plumbing repairs, rebuilding and replacing flooring or drywall are separate.
What changes the price
- Square footage
- More wet floor and wall means more extraction time, more equipment and more days of drying. A single room and a whole floor are very different jobs.
- Water category
- Clean supply water costs less to handle than gray water, and sewage or flood water costs the most because of protective gear, disinfecting and disposal.
- Materials
- Carpet and drywall come out and dry fast. Hardwood, plaster, concrete and wet insulation take longer or need removal.
- Drying time
- Humidity, temperature and how long water sat all change how many days the equipment runs and how many visits are needed.
- Access and hours
- Crawlspaces, attics and tight spaces take more labor. After-hours emergency work may cost more than a scheduled visit.
Ways to keep the cost down
- Call early. A wet floor caught in the first hours needs less equipment and fewer days than one that sat overnight.
- Shut off the water and lift belongings off wet floors while you wait for the crew.
- Take photos before anything moves, so the scope is clear and nothing is argued later.
- Tell us the source and how long it ran. That lets us plan the right equipment on the first visit.
- Ask what can be dried instead of removed. Keeping drywall or hardwood that can be dried saves rebuild costs.
